Supporting Children's Health Initiatives
His Excellency Col. Dr. Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Commander of King Hamad University Hospital and Consultant in Pediatrics and Respiratory Diseases, visited the Republic of Vietnam as part of the 20th-anniversary celebration of “Operation Childlife” (OCL) in Vietnam.
During his visit, and in line with efforts to support children’s healthcare, His Excellency participated in treating several critical respiratory cases in children at a specialized hospital. His Excellency also conducted a training workshop for the local medical team on the latest bronchoscopy techniques.
“Operation Childlife” is a charitable organization that aims to transfer medical and surgical expertise to various countries, including the Republic of Vietnam, Mongolia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the United Republic of Tanzania.
The organization is led by its founder, Prof. Martin Corbally, Consultant Pediatric Surgeon at the Royal Medical Services’ King Hamad University Hospital, and Professor and Head of the Surgery Department at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain.
