The Royal Medical Services has launched an innovative and safe home healthcare service for registered patients who are better suited to receive care at home. This service is available to patients from the Military Hospital, King Hamad University Hospital, Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Specialized Heart Center, and the Bahrain Oncology Center. The program allows patients to receive high-quality healthcare services in the comfort of their own homes, as part of a strategic plan aimed at improving the quality of care and making healthcare more accessible. The services include post-discharge monitoring for patients who are elderly or unable to visit the hospital, with medical and nursing teams overseeing their condition. Home healthcare professionals assess the patient’s health, provide health education to the patient and their family, and ensure the home environment is safe for recovery. The program also includes home nursing care, physical rehabilitation, mental health support, medication management, and the provision of intravenous treatments for oncology patients and the elderly. Additionally, lab sample collection at home for elderly patients is offered. These services are available throughout the week, including during official holidays, ensuring continuous care according to a treatment plan established by the supervising specialist doctor. The home healthcare service is a key part of the Royal Medical Services’ efforts to enhance patient care and improve outcomes by delivering personalized, convenient healthcare directly to the patient’s home.
