Dr. Naji AlAmuddin

Dr. Naji Alamuddin is a Consultant Endocrinologist at King Hamad University Hospital and the Acting Head of the Internal Medicine Department. He also serves as an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the School of Medicineat RCSI Bahrain. Dr. Naji received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, holds a Master’s in Translational Research from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Education for healthcare professionals from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital and a fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and is a Diplomate of the A merican Board of Obesity Medicine. With extensive research experience, his work primarily focuses on obesity treatment, metabolic changes associated with weight loss, and bariatric surgery. He has published in several high-impact journals and has received various awards, including an NIH K12 Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Program award.
