Col. Dr. Adel Hamad is a highly regarded consultant cardiologist and interventional cardiac electrophysiologist. He earned board certifications in internal medicine in 2004 and adult cardiology in 2006 from the University of Toronto, followed by a clinical fellowship in electrophysiology at Toronto General Hospital in 2008. His extensive postgraduate training spanned six major university hospitals in Toronto. Upon returning to the Kingdom of Bahrain, he established the kingdom’s first electrophysiology lab in 2010, and later introduced an advanced EP program utilizing 3D mapping technology in 2012, as well as a cryoablation program for atrial fibrillation in 2016. Dr. Adel’s clinical focus includes diagnosing and managing arrhythmias, device implants, electrophysiology studies, and investigating syncope.

Dr. Adel is recognized for his advanced management of complex arrhythmias through the use of 3D mapping systems, enhancing the precision of diagnosis and treatment for PVCs, SVT, atrial tachycardia, and atrial flutter. He is proficient in cryoablation for atrial fibrillation and has successfully performed ischemic ventricular tachycardia ablations, demonstrating his expertise in handling high-risk cases. A trailblazer in the field, Dr. Adel made history by performing the first leadless pacemaker implant in 2017, and has been implanting ICDs and CRT devices since 2009. His procedures are conducted in a fully equipped advanced electrophysiology lab, featuring MRI-compatible pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, CRT systems, and implantable loop recorders, underlining his commitment to delivering state-of-the-art cardiac care.
