In Endarterectomy at Military Hospital. He was the first to perform Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (EVAR), Thoraco-Abdominal Aneurysm repair, and Endovascular Repair of Thoracic Aortic Transection due to trauma(TEVAR). He also executed the first Endovascular Repair of a traumatic subclavian artery pseudoaneurysm. In the treatment of venous disorders, he introduced the first Percutaneous Pharmaco-Mechanical Thrombectomy for massive deep vein thrombosis and the first hybrid revascularization procedures combining surgery and endovascular techniques. Dr. Dhafer also led groundbreaking efforts with the first Common Iliac Vein Stenting for May-Thurner Syndrome and the first Surgical Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and Carotid Endarterectomy at the Military Hospital. In addition to his surgical milestones, Dr. Dhafer is highly skilled in using advanced vascular tools and imaging modalities. These include vascular sheaths, catheters, wires, balloons, stents, closure devices, and percutaneous thrombectomy systems. He is proficient in Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), vascular ultrasound for diagnostics and interventions, and interpreting vascular lab findings with precision.
