Dr. Shereen Al Shaikh is a highly notable Consultant Invasive Cardiologist and the Head of the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). She holds a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians in Glasgow, awarded in 2020, and has completed extensive training in interventional cardiology, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and inherited heart diseases in London, United Kingdom, between 2010 and 2012. Dr. Shereen became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in London in 2009, further solidifying her expertise in the field. She earned her medical degree in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in Basic Medical Science in 2001, both from the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain. With her comprehensive education and specialized training, Dr. Shereen is committed to providing exceptional care in the management and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.

She utilizes intravascular imaging techniques such as IVUS and OCT, alongside intravascular hemodynamic assessment tools like FFR and RFR, ensuring precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
Additionally, she employs cutting-edge calcium modification tools including intravascular lithotripsy and rotational atherectomy for complex coronary interventions. Dr. Shereen is also skilled in using percutaneous closure devices for congenital heart diseases and specializes in rare and complex procedures, including the MitraClip device for percutaneous mitral valve intervention. A key part of her practice is left atrial appendage closure to reduce stroke risk, and she also provides expert care for patients with adult congenital heart disease through advanced percutaneous interventions.
