Col. Dr. Khalid Muqla AlKuwari

Dr. Khalid graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in the year 2000. He completed the surgical fellowship at RCSI in 2003. He completed his advanced Orthopedic training program from Singapore General Hospital which is the biggest teaching hospital in Singapore in 2008. Dr. Khalid then completed clinical fellowship in Hand and Micro surgery in 2009. He then went to work in Munich Germany and completed two years of Spinal surgery fellowship under the mentorship of the world-renowned Spinal surgeon Prof. Michael Mayer.

Dr. Khalid has been at the forefront of surgical innovation, both regionally and globally.

In 2013, he performed the world’s first fully navigated thoracoscopic scoliosis surgery at the BDF Hospital. Since 2009, he has been among a select group of surgeons globally advancing the field of endoscopic spine surgery. Dr. Khalid has delivered prestigious lectures around the world on innovations in spinal surgery. He introduced anterior spinal approaches and artificial disc arthroplasty to the region, and pioneered intrapelvic approaches for complex pelvic fractures in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
