The Royal Medical Services: Continuation of the Organ Donation Campaign Gives New Life to Patients

We therefore call on every individual in society to take part, for every donated organ represents a chance to revive a life and restore hope to those who have lost it.
His Excellency Brig. Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Commander of the Royal Medical Services and Chairman of the Central Committee for the Management and Organization of Organ Transplantation, stated: "We affirm the ongoing continuity of the organ donation campaign without interruption, as it is a vital humanitarian initiative that gives life to patients in need. We therefore call on every individual in society to take part, for every donated organ represents a chance to revive a life and restore hope to those who have lost it.
His Excellency added that organ donation is not merely a medical act, but a noble humanitarian message that embodies the highest values of giving and solidarity. He pointed out that the Royal Medical Services continuously works to promote this culture so that it becomes a part of the community’s daily behavior, given its direct impact on patient's lives.
Since the launch of the organ transplantation program in November 2023, medical teams at King Hamad University Hospital have successfully performed 54 kidney transplants and 19 liver transplants, a live testament to the efficiency of specialized medical professionals and the importance of ongoing donation.
His Excellency Brig. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa emphasized that these achievements would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of qualified medical staff, the advanced capabilities at the Royal Medical Services - King Hamad University Hospital, and continuous support of the wise leadership. He added that each transplant operation carries a profound humanitarian message and offers a new chance at life to every patient awaiting hope.
