RADIOLOGY

Computed Tomography (CT) The cardiac centre installed a state-of-the-art Siemens (SOMATOM Force) CT scanner. This advanced Dual Source scanner provides faster and more precise diagnoses while minimizing radiation and contrast usage. It offers personalized evaluations for adult and pediatric patients with coronary artery disease and complex congenital heart conditions. Additionally, it plays a vital role in assessing patients before complex percutaneous valvular interventions.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, also known as cardiovascular MRI, is a magnetic resonance imaging technology used for non-invasive assessment of the function and structure of the cardiovascular system. Multiple specialized MRI workshops were successfully conducted in collaboration with a Consultant Radiologist, Professor of Cardiovascular Imaging at the Imperial College of London and the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Positron Emission Tomography (PET-CT) Positron emission tomography (PET-CT) scans detect early signs of cancer and heart disease. A combination PET-CT scan produces 3D images for a more accurate diagnosis of anatomical and physiological function of an organ using provided software that combined transmission CT and emission PET images. MKCC radiographers were sent for further training at specialized centres abroad. In addition, the centre plans to sponsor doctors to specialize in this field.
